We took a quick trip to Breckenridge this weekend. We had beautiful weather –it snowed just enough to dust all the pine trees, and not enough to make driving a challenge. They didn’t seem to have skis short enough for Noe, so we visited the snow sculptures.

Noe also had one of her best nights of sleep in a while –was it the altitude?

Here is Noe in her new exersaucer. She still doesn’t totally get it – hasn’t started to reach for the toys, partially because she’s so captivated by the picture of a baby on the box. But her mom is happy to have another play station to shake things up a bit.
Noe is also having fun unpacking the big box that arrived from Grandma Cheryl –she’s having fun exploring more noise-making toys handed down from Aunt Lisa!

Noe had her 4-month check-up today, and she did splendidly! Everything checked out fine, and she was again such a trooper about getting her shots –she cried during the poke, but was fine almost immediately after, even giving a smile to the nurse who administered the shots!
Her new stats: 13 lbs, 11 oz (50%); 24.5 in (60%). That’s a gain of about 2.5 lbs and 1.5 inches in 2 months!

The picture has nothing to do with the doctor’s, but it shows off how long she is.

The library near us reopened last week, and Noe and I paid it a visit. They have a great children’s section, so I’m excited to make more trips there with Noe as she gets old enough to look forward to going. For now she’s enjoying the book we checked out, though she seems just as interested in the inside cover, which features a checker board pattern, as she is in the actual images in the book.

Last week was a big one for Noe. In addition to becoming an accomplished “roller-over,” she made big strides in her hand-eye coordination. She’s now grabbing just about everything we put in front of her. She’s also continued to talk a lot more, particularly when she first wakes up and during feedings. Today was the first time I noticed her actually playing during tummy time --she’s developed enough strength to lean on one arm and use the other one to get a hold of what catches her eye.

I felt like Noe was on a bit of a cooing hiatus over the past few weeks. I could tell she was really taking things in, but she hadn’t been verbalizing as much. That changed this week --she’s back to talking up a storm.

Noe first rolled over from her tummy to her back on New Year’s Day, but hadn’t repeated the performance until today, when she did it four times --each time I put her on her tummy this afternoon. I think she’s got it now, even if she isn’t the happiest about it, as you’ll see.

Noe continues to be more interested in and interactive with the world around her, and especially her toys. She’s really enjoyed being on her activity mat the last few days --she’s been shaking the posts that her animals hang from and watching them move around. Today she showed us a new trick by “reaching” for her chicken with her feet. It’s probably the best example we’ve seen of her being intentional in going after a toy on her own. Yeah- development!

We’ve been working on hand coordination, but Noe has more fun when we let her play with her feet.

We tried introducing some teething toys the other day. Noe seemed interested, though she hasn’t quite gotten the hang of it yet --once she gets her hands near her mouth, she gets a little distracted.
